Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 78.7/100, a mean average of 72.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 21.1.

Rift was great to see on here, and 2112 is my favourite Rush album. Obviously a taste of your own.

I like the list and your original selections. I used to have Hum's Downward Is Heavenward on mine. Same with the Dolls. Iron Maiden and the Cult are awesome too.

Some unique picks here. Personally, I never cared much for Morrissey after the Smiths with the exception of his first solo album, but I'm probably unusual that way. Welcome to the site, JF.

This is what makes these charts interesting - personally and IMHO, the Beatles, REM, Radiohead and The Smiths are 4 of the very worst bands in the history of music, yet they dominate your top 50. That's what makes the discs and world go 'round. Happy Listening!

This chart is chocked full of unique choices. I especially like the inclusion of Primus, Piece of Mind, and 2112. It would be even better without the Morissey, though.

<3 We have quite a few similarites, but yours is lacking 3 of the best albums ever: Velvet Underground & Nico, Blonde on Blonde, and Abbey Road!
