"I'm not generally an alto fan, but this album made me a believer. Adderley was the master of the alto and this is his finest work. The ensemble are tight and lay down jazz that is hot, cool and swinging. Two big thumbs up." Reply

"One can only imagine what Buddy Holly would have been capable of creating had he stayed alive. His gift of song-craft was unmatched by anyone else in his time. Elvis was a captivating performed, but he wasn't an artist like Buddy Holly. Rock and roll is the way it is today because of him. This al..." [+] Reply

"If you're a rock fan and haven't listened to this yet, do so as soon as you can. At times, this almost sounds like a documentary on African music- just listen to "Hush Your Mouth". "Still getting my feet wet with jazz albums, so this is an inexperienced question, but why is this not as well regarded as Davis' other albums? You can definitely tell it served as a canvas for Kind of Blue and that's regarded as the best jazz album of all time." Reply

"This just oozes 1950s French art film, in the best way possible. It feels a bit disjointed in places, but the music is so good, I'm willing to forgo that complaint completely." Reply

"Frankie's most introspective mood with Ava in the heart and soul. Painful, autumnal, sad, nocturnal, is the photography of a man alone. Nobody sing these feeling with more knowledge, dignity, self-respect. And at last..... one for my baby and one more for the road (Bill Millar's piano is a miracle)." Reply
