"Having never listened to a Thundercat project, I didn't know what to expect but I sure didn't expect a love letter to Tokyo and Goku. Even on first listen I can sense so much character in it and I'm really looking forward to getting to know the album better. Also can I just talk about that cover...."  [+]  Reply

"One of the three albums that began stoner rock, this album has a lot going on melodically beneath the surface, which is why it is not just another Black Sabbath clone. The vocals, soloing, even base fills are playing harmonies which give the feeling of depth under the wall of sound power chords. ..."  [+]  Reply

"The album starts off very strong but then starts to fade in the middle and nearer the end. This is mainly due to the songs not being as infectious and it gets a little less experimental as well. This excludes the closing track which is simply phenomenal. The opening of the album starts with diver..."  [+]  Reply

"Great hard rock/blues rock album. Best 10 songs average is 95,7/100 and the album can get great 95/100. I love it and I can't count how many times I've listened to it. Full scoring: "Livin' on the edge" + "Cryin'" + "Crazy" + "Amazing". Followed by "Eat the rich" 90/100. Notable is also the good ..."  [+]  Reply

"It may not be fair, but I have always less appreciated the work of Schulze (who left Tangerine Dream (TD) because of artistic differences with Edgar Froese in 1970) than TD's. As a young boy you may need variety. Possibly it was difficult for me at that time to appreciate the musical and artistic..."  [+]  Reply

"Easily Deerhunters best work since Cryptograms. They bring together all the rage and intensity that they've been restraining all these years, while combining that with the hooks and song structure from Microcastle. What comes out is my album of the year."  Reply

"A pseudo-concept album from the perspective of an ex-partier, wavering between nostalgia at the good moments of being part of the drug-fueled rock and roll scene of Minneapolis past, and acknowledgement that that time of life incubated and exacerbated the tragedies of adulthood for many of those ..."  [+]  Reply
