"For some reason I never noticed it before, but this album is a lot like Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden. And with each listen is grows more and more profound. From the poetic lyrics, to the brilliant musicianship that blends jazz and post rock into lush arrangements. It's an album that seems much simp..."  [+]  Reply

"110th best album of 1978? A travesty. This is one of the greatest of all post-punk departures, beautifully crafted songs about the breakdown of love delivered with the decadent sneer of a man on the verge of a drug-induced collapse."  Reply

"One of Cornershops strongest, if not the strongest, album. My gripe with it is I do not understand the inclusion of tracks 7,8 and 9 - they seem to be fillers in an album that has 15 tracks - just get rid of those three and you'd have a more consistent album and I'd probably rate it higher than I..."  [+]  Reply

"Some astonishing groove metal can be found here, and pretty much every song offers something different, leaving you wanting more. Piss Christ is probably the most overlooked, impressive track here, sounding like something from a sci-fi film."  Reply

Sci-Fi Lullabies
Compilation
"Very few bands, if any, have B-sides as strong as early suede. The first disk of Sci-Fi is as good, if not better, as suede and dog man star. I think if disk one had been released as a 3rd anderson/butler's suede album it would rank alot higher on the site. Disk two is pretty forgetable however"  Reply

"Criminally underrated Microphones record, It's really hard to see behind all experimental brutality, but if you listen closely, there is a beautiful melody that flourish in the middle of all this noise, and it's beautiful when you can hear this flower opening. Phil is at his best here and in Glow..."  [+]  Reply

"I've had this album on MP3 and recently purchased the remastered on vinyl. It sounded great on my stereo system and I enjoyed having the information in the cover. I figured Lindsey was the one behind the music but didn't know Stevie was writing lyrics back then. I understand Fleetwood was at the ..."  [+]  Reply

"86 Kelela had already made a strong sensation with the release of "Take Me Apart" placing her as one of the new Alternative Rnb and Uk Bass stars, but "Raven" is a consecration of a whole new dimension. On 62 minutes, Kelela plunges us into a futuristic and synthetic adventure, filled with dark a..."  [+]  Reply

"Layered, intelligent, moving, and textured, this album is not just one of the better albums of the 90's, but of all time. Every track on this gem is solid and wonderful, but if you're short on time, give "Afternoon With the Axolotls" a listen. You won't be sorry."  Reply
