So faraway from the perfect pop of "the Reminder", this records looks more to the Smog low-fi than the 1234 record.
Sometimes looks like it was recorded in her room, with filtated voices, buzzes and minimal production.

Please add Pleasure to the list of 2017 Albums that are OK but spoiled by being too bloated with a few great songs among fillers, “ Pleasure “ at 53 minutes joins Father John Misty’s “Pure Comedy “ and Lana Del Rey’s “ Lust For Life” both 70 minutes + in this category. Had Feist left off 4 or 5 average songs this would have been a terrific album, alas not to be. If you like this album check out Tash Sultana who is extremely similar, in fact have the 2 artists ever been seen in the same room together ...mmmmm?
Well outside the genres I usually listen to but there is something very special about this album. My favourite part is the last couple of minutes of Any Party and then the swap over to A Man Is Not His Song. Brilliant!

Certainly a big improvement on Metals. 'Century' is an awesome track, and there are plenty of other highlights too. Still, it could be a bit more coherent & consistent. Great that she's back on an upward trajectory.

I read how one reviewer called this Feist's 'sex & death' album. One thing is for sure - she's not trying to repeat the indie-pop formula that led to '1234'. This is an edgy album; one that sways between soothing and biting. Feist has really evolved as an artist; this is surely one of the best albums of 2017.
