Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.5/100, a mean average of 74.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.9.

A good album, Affirmation the best track.
This is a divisive album as Benson transitioned from "real" jazz to smooth/popular contemporary jazz. Purists decry it while casual jazz fans laud it. Even as a hard core jazz fan, I think it's excellent. One just need set aside preconceptions and listen to it for what it is, which is certainly best of breed for what was an emerging genre, and it remains so today.
A transition album; it's alright but far from his best work.
Slick best describes this record. Mr. Benson cut his chops as a session player with the greats before hitting it big with this album. Probably the best of his solo work.
This is the cross-over album from Jazz to soul. The guitar playing is just brilliant and Geaorge shows he can sing a bit too
Great album. Benson's guitar work is simply genius. "Affirmation" was the highlight track.
