Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 80.6/100, a mean average of 76.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.5/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 11.7.

Then why are you dropping in and rating it a 20/100?
i like it
good chart, i just dont really get things like tenacious D?
I started it? Am I on the internet or in the sandbox?
My list is comprised of the albums I consider the be the greatest music albums, hence the title of the list. Familiarity or lackthereof does not determine whether it's on the list.
Coldplay, U2, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Doors - all examples of super popular artists whose music should not even be in the discussion of greatest music albums. (I'm sure just about everyone disagrees w/ me about Pink Floyd, oh well)
every Dylan album, every Beatles albums, half a dozen who, stones, and zep albums...is unorigonal better than generic?
Our lists are far from identical. I'd say very different. As different as the musical variety on Brown Sugar, Srgt. Pepper's, or OK Computer.
Yes, 5 out of 50 albums are shared. Our lists, save Radiohead, are very different.
