Decided not to include live albums but then I included two of them....no real logic to it. If I included live albums my chart would be loaded with a ridiculous number of Pearl Jam live albums and bootlegs so it made sense to leave them off in order to provide a more balanced chart. But then I included Nirvana's unplugged album and the Talking Heads Stop Making Sense. Ah well....it's my chart and I guess I can do whatever I want even if its inconsistent.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Mandro, I'm with you on the Stones - at least up until the mid seventies. Leonar, yeah its pretty bad that I'm a Canadian and not a single Canadian Band on my list. I need to update my list - its been about a year, but I don't know that the Canadian content will increase. If I had a top 100 it will include some Neil Young and Arcade Fire. I'm a bad Canadian I guess. Zipper, I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan. The honest truth is that I very rarely listen to the studio albums, except when they first come out. I have hundreds of hours of PJ bootlegs and live albums. I didn't include them on the chart because it would get pretty repetitive. Bork, I'm obviously a big fan of both PJ and Radiohead, but I'm glad you liked enough of the other stuff to think it was a decent enough chart. I have my favourites but I do like music from every decade. Thanks for the comments. Cheers.

Good Chart but why don't you try to discover new things or some obscure Albums.
Albums that aren't too casual in the site

Yeah my chart is definitely 90's heavy, thats always been my favorite time period for music. As far as Elton John haha, I think hes really an amazing songwriter, and I'm a sucker for a good piano ballad every now and again. The Shins are a great band that I found instantly likable yet always getting better with every listen. But anyways love your chart as well, obviously a great #1 pick.

Thanks for your comment, youre very nice :) I do think that Pearl Jeam is a great band too.. i dont know why i havent picked one of their albums.. i think 50 albums is not enough for a decent list!! Great albums from the 90s too!!!
