Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Decent chart but incredibly same-y and so not particularly interesting, need to spread your wings and fly fly fly like a butterfly fly

Not a bad chart at all... but I don't see how this is massively different chart than your comments to 5thbeatle.
Great chart. I'm liking the Jefferson airplane, genesis, and jethro Tull, three often forgotten bands.
i actually have that tears for fears album and enjoy it quite a lot. i must admit to a prejudice against donna summer and will give this album a listen. cheers.
haredoug ... that Summer selection is a special concept piece... read my comments on it. Tears for Fears? Not many singers measure up to Roland Orzabal.
hey, if you can have TWO by tears for fears and one by donna summer i can have tiny tim. give him a chance!
