Era un adolescente cuando Rocket Brothers llegó a mis oidos, y desde la primera vez que la escuché supe que se trataba de una canción que me marcaría de por vida, después llegó Surfing The Warm Industry y de igual manera me sorprendió líricamente hablando, y así The Aftermath confirmó que esta no era una banda cualquiera, era la banda que me haría adentrarme a un sector más desconocido, dandome por sentado que no debes ser popular para ser maravilloso.

Fue el segundo disco que escuché de la banda pero para mi es el más sincero de todos, la banda nunca lograría alcanzar este nivel de conexión conmigo de nuevo, simplemente siento escalofríos al oirlo y transportarme al pasado.

Corria el año 2002 y escuché The Scientist por primera vez, después Clocks e In My Place, y lo único que pude pensar era en encontrar a esta banda y ver que más tenía para ofrecer, y simplemente un Wow fue lo que pude decir, se convirtió en uno de esos discos que te marcan para siempre y guardas en un lugar especial de tus recuerdos.

Por el año 2003 solo veía críticas favorables hacia este disco aunque nunca tuve la oportunidad de escucharlo hasta el año 2012 (9 años después). Mis expectativas fueron gratamente correspondidas con un sonido fantástico y líneas de bajo asombrosas. Un viaje musical inigualable que todo mundo debería experimentar.

Ágætis byrjun es hermoso sin lugar a dudas, pero este disco tiene un lugar especial en mi corazón, conocí la grandeza y la hermosura de una banda gracias a este disco, el cual me mostró la melancolía y la belleza llevadas de la mano en un idioma (Hopelandic) que simplemente me dice que la música no necesita de palabras para entenderse a la perfección.
