Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by Daydreamer Unknown

A rough prototype, there are many albums which would definitely be in my top 100 but I didn't know where to place them so I will be adding them as soon as I figure out where they should be.

Also I by no means think these albums are the greatest using some objective criteria, more like 100 best albums ever according to my tastes and opinions. Enjoy :)

David Bowie is for me the greatest rock star ever. Larger than life, enigmatic and incredibly unique. This album is filled with so many great melodies combined with Bowie's theatrical siging which are forever imprinted in your mind. This is rock drama at it's finest. What else can be said about this masterpiece? After so many listens it hasn't lost a bit of its magic. It has the most perfect flow ever and literally not a single note is out of place. Pure perfection. I literally can't even thing a single thing that describe how good this album actually is [First added to this chart: 01/23/2017]

What I love about Springsteen so much is that he is a man filled with so much passion and he pours it all into his music. Born To Run is the last album of his early romantic idealistic phase which would soon be replaced by hard realism. This is the album when it all came togheter for him, making one last great statement of youthful hope and resistance. [First added to this chart: 01/23/2017]

David Bowie the chameleon. Never has the art of reinventing itself been so beautiful like on this record. Bowie teamed up with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti to make something incredibly unique and ahead of it's time, yet to pleasant to listen to. The fact that Sides A and B are polar opossites and I still can't decide which one I like better really says something. [First added to this chart: 02/26/2017]

Pink Floyd followed The Dark Side Of The Moon with another masterpiece, this time inspired by Syd Barret's descent into madness. Only five tracks, but all great. A true progressive meditative and truly heavenly beautifull music with some really timeless songs. [First added to this chart: 01/23/2017]

Few bands are as diverse and versatile as Queen. They always put different styles even with a single albums. First 5 songs are completely different yet they flow into each other effortlessly. They were really on top of their game here - dramatic, over the top and glamorous. Of course, having the best song of all time here doesn't hurt either. [First added to this chart: 01/23/2017]

Dylan was never the one to expose himself, but he does it to an extent. Written during separation from his wife Sara, we know finally see intimate feelings of the great man behind the myth. He of course denies, but you don't know Dylan if you believe that. Here he is at his most desperate. Perhaps no other album is better described by its name than this one. It's so long that it's massive, over the top and self-indulgent, yet it's a total masterpiece. Why? Well simply put Roger Waters poured everything that was in his troubled soul in this album, he bared himself to the bone. So that makes this a very powerful and emotional listen. Of course, having other PF members who are all top notch musicians doesn't hurt either. [First added to this chart: 01/23/2017]

The release of this album was problematic since Bruce was involded in some legal battles following the success of Born To Run. Incidentally, the themes in this album are a big turn from the romanticism of of Born To Run. The songs are mostly more pesimistic and realistic, like the characters from Born To Run were now broken by the hard realities of life. The sound itself follows this change by being much more rock sounding a raw. Gone are the jazz influences from his first 3 album. As an optimist myself, I'll always prefer Born To Run but something about this album makes it seem much more real. [First added to this chart: 01/23/2017]

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 2% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 90.4/100, a mean average of 90.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.9.

The further towards 100 you go the more unique and interesting it gets IMO. Seems we have a lot in common, though I maybe skew a little more recent.

Good chart! Was nice seeing Innuendo and Bone Machine on here mixed in with tons of highly rated albums. Innuendo is easily one of Queens best and most underrated songs.
