This decade is really hard for me. I think the birth of rock n' roll is where my heart is, but I can't deny the quality of jazz and classical music at this time.
It also is really hard for me because my dad, who was born in 1946, really listened to the greatest hits from the era, because it really is an era that maybe caters to hits and not albums (at least for rock n' roll/r&b, etc.). The good best of compilations from this decade really are either in the next decade or from the 90s or something. Take Eddie Cochran for example, who I in good conscience can't put on this chart... I used to have him on here from a 1960s compilation album, even though his big hits "C
Mon Everybody and Summertime Blues were in 1958. Maybe once I have a moment I'll make a 1950s compilation chart and link it here.
Therefore it is really hard for me to put my favorites together on this chart. It's equally hard NOT to choose a quality jazz album over a group that has a hit or two I really like, even though the hits off the record are more interesting than the higher quality jazz album.

Fabulous list considering how the 50's was mostly known for singles. Nice job!

I would say 80% of this list are albums that I consider to be great. The others I would have to say have a lot of filler on them. Hollywood Flames vs. Little Richard for example. This is Little Richard is a great album, whereas Buzz Buzz Buzz, has quite a bit of filler if you ask me.
