Best Letterman Performances
by ShaneSpear

Exactly what it says on the tin. Why do I get the feeling that Letterman would be a great BEA user?

Letterman has only asked for encores twice in his show's history. The Heavy were the band both times.

One of my favorite live vocals of all time; Ed Droste absolutely kills it. That one dude plucking the violin/viola back there might be a bit too into it, but I'll let it slide.

Letterman makes no qualms about the fact that he enjoys putting Brooklyn artists as much as possible, so TV on the Radio was a perfect fit.

Not only is this a great performance and all, but check out all those flags behind Letterman. I thought this was a post 9/11 show for a moment, but then I realized it has to be from November 2000 because it's the only timeframe that makes sense.

One of the funnier moments, where Paul and David are talking about the epic outro on Black, and Eddie Vedder randomly walks in to sing along to it and then just as randomly leaves. Awesome moment. EDDIEEEEEEE!

It seems like bands had a lot more freedom to move around back when Letterman was on NBC in the 12:30 time slot after Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. David himself was way more wild too. This version of the show was more like what Conan would become.

Overall good list. You should check out Alabama Shakes' performance of Hold On

(Also Pinkerton is better than Blue)

Cool. A list for Jimmy Fallon would work as well.
