"Amazing album. Not released until 14 years after Chris Bell's death. It saddens me to think of all the great music he could have made and the possibility that he could have reformed Big Star at some point. Title song, You and Your Sister, Speed of Sound are melodic classics. The album is a must f..."  [+]  Reply

"I forgot how much I liked this album. There is an underlying groove which makes up for some of the repetitive content. Side A is stronger than side B. Different to Happy Mondays but it was this album that got me to buy their back catalogue. Overall this is my favourite Shaun Ryder album."  Reply

"If this record would have been released by anyone else but David Bowie it would get more respect. I admit it is a little long and some of the tracks could have been eliminated. You can't help but compare it to his classic albums but hey it's better than anything the Stones have released in the la..."  [+]  Reply

"I don't get all the really low ratings for this album. Seems like quite a likeable album to me. Not great, but if you liked it in the 90s, still makes for interesting listen every couple years or so. That voice is somewhat of a novelty. Most songs are catchy even if you can't quite remember them ..."  [+]  Reply

"Bashung's best with "L'Imprudence". An absolutely wonderful collection of melancholy pop, arranged and produced in stylish manner (Bashung had listened to Portishead a lot and hired Utley for guitar works). Set the criteria of what could be expected of the best of pop-rock chanson for the years t..."  [+]  Reply

"Recently I was part of a conversation with some friends about the career trajectory of Buffalo Tom. Among my friends in college, it was undisputed conventional wisdom at the time that Buffalo Tom's first two albums, their self-titled debut and Birdbrain, are alternative-rock classics. The album w..."  [+]  Reply

"Unquestionably the best introduction to live Phish that any non-fan could hope to receive from a hyper obsessed fan, A Live One has got a little bit of everything: Songy songs, wacky vocal jams, wild jams, and a 30-fucking-minute Tweezer."  Reply

"It should be made absolutely clear that this is bright shiny disco pop tunes, and nothing but it. If that is your kind of thing, this is a GREAT compilation from start to finish. Only a couple of tracks that could have been omitted, and really just Summer Night City mysteriously missing (probably..."  [+]  Reply
