"One of the best albums of the 2000's, Modest Mouse puts out their third classic in a row. The most common criticism for this album is that no track really stand out, but I beg to differ. This album contains two of the greatest songs MM ever recorded, The Parting of the Sensory and Missed the Boat..."  [+]  Reply

"Janis almost sounds better as part of a band. Here, she sounds a little more focused, even as she wails and belts it out with the best of them. The creation of a legend."  Reply

"I know, a 10/10 sounds like too much. The album is certainly flawed, GOD is it flawed. But that is mostly because of the fact that her approach of making music was completely unknown at the time. She makes the song and has a vision and then makes sure she finds a producer that understands her. An..."  [+]  Reply

"New Romantic was almost over. Martin Fry used to say that he never was "a Blitz kid" but that he wanted this album to be seen as influenced by Punk. Which I can understand quite well, Punk was so over in 1982, but this was the new way to say "No!" though it sounded like a "Yes!". The lyrics of "D..."  [+]  Reply

"There's this suaveness, this snarky edge, but undeniably boyishness to it. I'm reminded of Pip living in London, learning to be a gentleman. There's a high class presence, but there's still the fragile, infinitely endearing charm and sincerity to Dear Catastrophe Waitress that makes this an essen..."  [+]  Reply

"The most highly regarded album by the Fall on this particular site, and this album does still have much to shout about, it is better for example than the further trio of Brix albums that followed it. However, in my opinion it cannot compete with the likes of Grotesque, Hex or Perverted By Languag..."  [+]  Reply

"This album is a cacophony of joy. Guitars, horns and, "lobotomy beats", you can hear the influences talking over each other like drunk students solo cups in hand at some epic party. Nicotine and Gravy is a highlight towards the end it is punctuated by a James Brown snare onto a Stevie Wonder clav..."  [+]  Reply

"If you were to extrapolate what you'd expect an album like this to sound like given Tame Impala's trajectory from Innerspeaker -> Lonerism -> Currents, The Slow Rush is what you'd expect. For that reason I don't anticipate critics to really go crazy over this. It's not a huge departure from the s..."  [+]  Reply

"I hate that I like this so much. I mean, as I was reading the lyrics on spotify, I got a "wonderful" picture of a girl in a unicorn costume holding a tiny yippy dog- also in a unicorn costume. But theey have brilliant sporatic songwriting (Kinda reminds me of the Microphones "the glow, pt. 2"), b..."  [+]  Reply
