"I discovered Pavement after their split. I don't have a "personal history" with these albums too. For these ears, every Pavement album was better than the previous one ... what a band !"  Reply

"I have been listening to this band and this album in particular for about twenty years now... i never tire of them or it... so No 1 for me. One of the greatest underrated bands"  Reply

"A very strong debut. Maybe even better than the Rolling Stones 64 debut. The band sound very tight and clear, and the bass lines are glorious. A commonplace would be to say that "House of the rising sun" is the highlight. HOTRS is the best track, but the real highlight is Eric Burdon's powerful a..."  [+]  Reply

""Sadly, the rest of the album doesn't hold up to that standard... Killing is another good song on here though." You contradicted yourself in the space of one sentence! Anyway on the album: One of the first of the great 00's Dance-punk revival, Rapture proved that screaming while shaking yo ass wa..."  [+]  Reply

"I also agree that this album is underrated. They obviously understood that they needed to develop a new sound with more range to stay relevant, and they ultimately succeeded wildly. Nimrod planted the seed of experimentation, but this was when the seed sprouted and the sonic shift truly occurred,..."  [+]  Reply

"A great journey, so raw and intense. Obviously still a little rough round the edges but a fantastic release, beats and instrumentation flow perfectly. Portrays this modern, futuristic city that you feel you're flying through."  Reply

"Hugely successful comeback after the disappointing Soul to Soul. Stevie at his best here, still laying down some blazing blues, but having refined his craft even a step further. He also does a nice job shifting from blues to jazz on the closer, 'Riviera Paradise.'"  Reply
