God, what the hell were they thinking? As soon as Kim quit, that should've been it. But no, they had to go ahead and release this colossal disappointment. I hope the money was worth it, considering their seven or eight worst songs are all on this album, and the other songs are nothing special either.
This should've been one of the most important albums of this year, if not the past five, ten, twenty years overall. It's the fucking Pixies at the height of their popularity, releasing their first original material (not counting Bam Thwok) in over two decades! I don't think I've ever been so disappointed by a band before. Certainly not a band that sits in my top five ever.
If a time machine is ever invented, my first task will be to prevent the release of Indie Cindy by whatever means necessary.
Gets far far far too much shit. Its a solid, enjoyable 3.5 star sort of album but because they have a history of 5 star and 4.5 star caliber stuff people act as though this thing is some sort of 0 star abomination. Its a pretty good effort for a band this deep into their career.
As a relatively new Pixies fan, I didn't face any crushing disappointment by this album. It's by no means their best work, but a reasonably decent attempt to get back in the game.

C'mon!
As a hard ass Pixies fan I have to say that this is NOT A DISAPOINTMENT!
Of course is not also their best work (BECAUSE THEIR PREVIOUS WORK WAS MINDBLOWING) but it still has that Pixies thing, that stunning thing that amazes us all.
Magdalena 318, Indie Cindy and What Goes Boom are really good tracks.

It sounds like a bunch of old men trying to cover Pixies, but sounding like a third-hand-dinosaur-hard-rock-band
