Inspired by "Pet Sounds" in a effort to surpass it, Paul said it. Sgt. was a very ambitious album, because in the other side of the sea appeared a contender Pet Sounds of The Beach Boys, and they wanted to to do something as great as Pet Sounds and they suceeded for me, Brian Wilson effor with Pet Sounds was to top Rubber Soul, it was like a circle of influential albums.
As it is very groundbreaking in the magic year again, 1967, I don't think is the best album ever but is close, I prefer Pet Sounds by a small gap Pop music wise, Sgt. has 4 perfect songs, and the rest overall very very solid, creative tracks and all has the same concept tone.
For me the best album of The Beatles is this one just for the influence, but In quality is on pair with "Revolver", the impossible thing to match The Beatles is to do that many great albums and in a row, I say this beacause I think they have 3 more albums almost as good as this one, a thing that only the best band ever could do. "Revolver" "Abbey Road" are the most close to Sgt in quality, "Rubber Soul" is very good too and was influential in the "Pet Sounds" making.
The thing with the Beatles is that they could do 3, 4 or 5 albums with a level equal or more to another groups best album. The best group ever to this day, no doubt. [First added to this chart: 08/14/2015]

So what's different with you having so many albums from the 60s and 70s, most of which being classic rock? Again, I like classic rock, but having mostly one genre isn't really variety, is it?

That's what people here don't have, variety. All Radiohead, all 90s 00s albums have the most quantity of rating. My chart is only my favourite music albums, the best for me, not for you or other people, you have your own opinions.

There's a little idiom: "variety is the spice of life". That can apply to your chart. Not that I disagree with it, you have some very good choices here. But there's no variety. All but one of your entries are from the 60s and 70s, and while I'm not trying to be rude, it wouldn't hurt to try and listen to some different stuff.
Also two things: 1. Most of the "greatest" charts on this site are subjective, not objective. 2. Please stop trying to assert your opinion as being objective. One album that can hold a meaning to one person could be considered rubbish by another. I'll just hold off on a rating, for now.
