Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 75.3/100, a mean average of 69.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 21.9.

Great list. Much in common with myself.
We have so many albums in common. Love a lot of your choices.
I'm a huge Soundgarden fan but I've never liked Down on the Upside. What makes that one of your top 10? Same with the self titled Rush over stuff like Moving Pictures or Permanent Waves.
You got great taste, my man. We love many of the same bands, but I disagree with several selections. Let it Be over Sgt Pepper? Physical Graffiti over IV? Soft Parade over self-titled? Superunknown is weaker than BMF and DotU? Four Metallica albums, but not ...AJFA? I haven't seen a chart with so many bands I love, but with so many selections that confuse me.
You got good taste!!
Permission to Land is great, always makes me laugh. I'm not familiar with about half of your chart, but I like the other half.

I love George Carlin myself. I own 2 multidisc DVD collections of his comedy specials. But it's just a sticking point with me that I wouldnt consider a comedy album or spoken word, or even a greatest hits or live album a true 'album' just the same way I wouldnt consider a concert film or documentary a true feature film/movie. But to each his own. It's your list after all ;)
I really don't think comedy or spoken word albums fit in the category of music, myself. But I'm going on the albums that I like the best and if it's an option on the website, why not include it? Really I could have nearly every one of George's albums on here, I enjoy them that much. I debated including It's Bad For Ya, but it's the best comedy or music album I've ever heard. It changed my views on many things and really got me into Carlin. So for those reasons alone, I think it would be an insult to not include it in the chart.
Very metal and grunge. In fact nearly all hard rock, metal and grunge. exceptionally strange inclusion that given of Thriller... and George Carlin is one of the all time greats in comedy but come on. It's like having a documentary win best picture at the movie awards...
Favorite comedian as #1, Seattle grunge and 80's metal--also my first concert Billy Squier and Ratt back in '85? Nice list
