Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Loved seeing Black Gives Way to Blue and that Deerhunter album on a chart! There is quite a lot of standard grunge on this chart. Very interested in checking out the Czech and Slovakian albums you put here, since I have little to no experience with music from around there.

You do love the 90's, nothing wrong with that. Nirvana is also a favorite of mine. Love to see The mars volta so high too

On many levels, this is the most disappointing chart to reach “Chart of the Day”, with its absence of diversity due to the heavy focus on 1990s grunge, which fails to capture the diversity and talent even of that decade – although some of the post-rock inclusions are refreshing after looking through.
The chart is redeemed a little by the presence of some very unusual albums from Eastern Europe, though the fact that these are from the user’s homeland and hence less likely to be long-term research or personal discovery detracts even from that.
A minor issue but one that does bug me, is the absence of “shuffling” so that similar or obviously related albums are placed adjacent.
