Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 79.2/100, a mean average of 78.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.2/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 13.2.

Things I can instantly tell by looking at this chart:
1. You grew up in & started discovering music in the 1990's.
2. You're from the former Czechoslovakia.

The US and UK albums on your chart are mostly pretty good IMO but they're a little too obvious. I prefer a chart that gives me some surprises and/or shows a more iconoclastic perspective. And I've heard most of the Czech and Slovak albums on your list (Karel Kryl, Pražský Výběr, Dežo Ursiny, Pavol Hammel & Marián Varga, Katarína Máliková, Collegium Musicum). They're good but I wouldn't consider them close to all-time Top 100 material.

I would encourage you to expand your horizons and listen to a wider variety of genres & music from other regions and cultures. There's an amazing world of music that exists beyond classic rock/grunge/alt-rock. If you included more of that diversity in your chart, I would find it a lot more interesting.

Loved seeing Black Gives Way to Blue and that Deerhunter album on a chart! There is quite a lot of standard grunge on this chart. Very interested in checking out the Czech and Slovakian albums you put here, since I have little to no experience with music from around there.

No surprises on where your love of music resides. Really good to see you recognising homegrown artists/albums from Slovakia & Czech Republic.

You do love the 90's, nothing wrong with that. Nirvana is also a favorite of mine. Love to see The mars volta so high too

On many levels, this is the most disappointing chart to reach “Chart of the Day”, with its absence of diversity due to the heavy focus on 1990s grunge, which fails to capture the diversity and talent even of that decade – although some of the post-rock inclusions are refreshing after looking through.

The chart is redeemed a little by the presence of some very unusual albums from Eastern Europe, though the fact that these are from the user’s homeland and hence less likely to be long-term research or personal discovery detracts even from that.

A minor issue but one that does bug me, is the absence of “shuffling” so that similar or obviously related albums are placed adjacent.

Nice to see some post-rock picks sneaking in, though the top ten is a little too homogeneous for my liking!!
