What an honest to God masterpiece. 43 minutes and there's not a single moment that doesn't captivate me--and yes, that is INCLUDING all of "Moonchild"! When I first heard this album, it was one of the most intense musical experiences I've ever had, with every track either entrancing or enthralling me. To make a sound this heavy in a year like 1969 is something that is utterly groundbreaking.

The Beatles; the most famous rock group of all time. In 1968 near the end of the year, they released 93 minutes of questionable, satirical, and political music amongst a whole lot of personal drama that began ensuing with the band. To me, this album embodies the group at their most vulnerable, where they still manage to come up with a series of hit songs despite their issues at the time. Even the most ridiculous tracks on here, such as "Revolution 9" or "Why Don't We Do It In The Road" manage to hit that mark they were so desperate to obtain, making the record very ahead of its time.
