Top 100 Greatest Music Albums

I wouldnt call this chart "best ever albums" as the site suggests, but this is quite simply my favourite albums. My chart has been put together based purely on what I enjoy listening to, no points for influence on other artists or importance at its time of release. It may be heavy with certain artists and genres, but they happen to be my favourite ones, I don't go for the one album per artist thing as I don't believe that gives an accurate account of your genuine favourites. The only rule I had was no greatest hits/best of, b-side collections or compilation albums.

I've put my favourite 3 tracks off each album on so if anyone hasn't heard anything on this chart they can listen to a taster of the album on youtube.

In the process of listening to all these again so positions will change.

I only like 4 stones albums and this just shades it for me as their best because of the variety of different styles on it. Everyone I speak to has different favourites off this which is probably why it appeals to so many people. Granted they could have shaved a couple of songs off it but as a whole its fantastic. Didn't take long for me to hail this as the Stones best as far easier to listen to as a newcomer than Exile, but over time I'd now put it as their 2nd best. A lot more compact than exile with more songs you've heard as a casual listener, a good starting point for anyone who want to move on from their best of albums. Favoutite tracks, Sister Morphine, Sway, I got the Blues. [First added to this chart: 02/01/2013]

Generally regarded as inferior to Let it Bleed but as a whole I think this is better. Just a shame that Jumpin Jack Flash wasn't included on it rather than just being released as a single, only one average song on this in Dear Doctor but contains 2 of my favourite stones tracks that don't get heard as much as they should. Favourite tracks, Stray Cat Blues, No Expectations, Sympathy for the Devil. [First added to this chart: 02/01/2013]

The last of the Stones albums on my chart, still great but not as good as the others. Let down by Country Honk, should have left the single version on it. Favourite tracks, Gimme Shelter, Love in Vain, Monkey Man. [First added to this chart: 02/01/2013]

I really love this chart and the comments even if I don't agee with all the albums on it: maybe a bit too biased on britpop: but anyhow I am tempted to check out a lot of your favorites especially the Rory gallagher ones; l checked out the Irish Tour album and I really lovend it as well. Apart from the shredding guitar plating I think it is the Ray Manzanerek like organisatie that delivers the icing on the already fantastisch cake.
I also especially liked your funny comments on Metallica and am glad you appreciate them
