"They increase the suspense and eeriness level of the debut while still sounding like the coolest james bond soundtrack ever made. "cowboys" sets the ominous tone slyly intoning at the chorus "But don't despair, This day will be their damnedest day". The dj work in this song and throughout is Tnot..."    Reply

"This is an undeniably catchy album that manages to make absolutely no impression on me. All the songs have great beats but they seem to be lacking in some way. It reminds me of Gang of Four or Soft Boys, but without the piercing guitars or biting lyrics that both of those bands brought to the tab..."    Reply

"The Pretty Things' 1968 album "S.F. Sorrow" did not 'cause much attention when it was originally released. The band had already shown, with their previous album "Emotions", that they wanted to explore new grounds, and that they felt that the r&b concept was too limited for them. "Emotions" showed..."    Reply

"It's a decent album, just a tad less inspired than other CCR releases. Unless you're a big-time CCR fan, you'd be forgiven for passing on purchasing this one. Highlights include Born on the Bayou and Proud Mary, but overall an unsurprising and forgettable release from this iconic band."  Reply

"The follow up to his debut album, Leonard Cohen releases another superb LP featuring more stunning songs. Bird on the wire, is of course a classic, but every song is excellent, from, the butcher, to, lady midnight, it's all superb. Cohen was at the top of his game here, both musically and vocally..."    Reply

"Released same year as london calling and makes that album look like old hat by old men trying too hard. This is just way cooler and better at saying where things were at in 79. Follow up great too."  Reply

"I always wondered why I liked this album so much when it was clear the Stones were already well in decline. Then I learned much of the material had been written earlier which explains a lot as most of these songs sound like they would fit on some of the Stones great albums from the previous decad..."    Reply

"One of the most underrated albums of all time. Turner's voice sounds incredible in the sweeter songs. I can truthfully say that I absolutely love nine out of the twelve songs, the other three being tracks 5-7, which I still like. If you like The Arctic Monkeys but are hesitant to buy this because..."    Reply
