Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

First album after Eddie left. Robbo done a fine job stepping up I think. No slowing down. All killer, no filler. I rate it amongst the best of Motorhead albums with 'Back at the Funny Farm' being one of the best ever tracks they did. Highly under rated.
This album has a much less direct sound than was present on the albums with "Fast" Eddie Clark. This time around, former Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson took up the reigns and, with Lemmy and Phil Taylor, delivered a more melodic sounding album with a very resonant production. Is this a bad thing? Not a chance. Some of Motorhead's best work is on this album, and while it is a bit of a transition album that doesn't really fit with any of the others, it is incredibly enjoyable and one of my personal favorites from them.
More like Another GREAT Motorhead Album. Early Motorhead really did no wrong. \m/
