This is a mirror of the toplist from my web site, which is dedicated to rating and comparing albums and artists. To be able to compare albums of different genres I have written my own rating formula, which is based on weighed song ratings. The result is presented as a percentage with two decimal places.
I'm currently reevaluating my entire database of albums with a more thorough rating process, which means that this list is bound to change. I'm of course also always searching for new interesting music.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

An intriguing mixed bag of albums & artists ~ I liked some of your bold top 100 choices (like Jethro Tull's 'Minstrel In The Gallery'), along with strong recognition of your home country artist/albums. However, overall I didn't find your chart inspiring, especially when almost 30% of valuable top 100 chart space was devoted to only 7 artists.

Very good chart, eclectic and with artists from all round the world. Good to see Abba in with heavy metal!! The band I want to get into is Clannad. I have their greatest hits and several Enya albums but have never heard their studio albums. Gotta try Yes as well. I know none of their albums. Anyway a very good chart. Check out mine, dude.
