Top 90 Greatest Music Albums by Big A2
1-50: The essentials. These are the albums my life wouldn't be the same without. Decided with pen and paper off the top of my head very quickly. Organised into loose order later, also very quickly. It tends to stick to 60s-70s and may have too many "alt rock cliches", but screw it, I like what I like.
50-90: The best of the rest. They don’t necessarily mean to me what the top 50 do, but their impact on me still can't be overstated.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 82.2/100, a mean average of 80.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.6/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 11.6.

Great list! We have a lot in common, but I find your placement of a Ramones album above Odessey and Oracle a little unforgiving.
Nice one

Love the inclusion of Wire's Pink Flag so high!

I think it's awesome that you have Neu! and Wire and Kraftwerk in your top 100.

Cohesive, yet diverse. Lots of stuff I've heard and liked, some stuff i didn't, but that is to be expected in any chart. Personally i would have Kid A higher, and do. But otherwise, good chart.
Suggestions:
Ghost Stories; Coldplay
What For?; Toro Y Moi
Calling out; EZTV

Only 10 albums in common but I like this chart a lot. The bands of the 60's & 70's are still influencing current bands but the 60's/70's is where it started. I am also a big Bowie fan and its great to see the overlooked "Heroes" so high.

Good chart, but not a lot of representation beyond the 60s and 70s...
Some good cuts, but I agree with users below that it's kind of full of the alt rock cliches that frequent this site. Can't go wrong with Zappa though :)

Great list, but it's too full of cliche that I couldn't check anything differente to listen to. And it's a list based only in two decades, like mine, but that why I'm searching for some almbums from another decades (in my case 90's and 00's).

Very good chart but would like to see more 80's and 90's albums.
