Top 40 Greatest Music Albums
by SitandSpanTime Unknown

Hey all, first chart that I'm making here. The order I've ranked these in all have to do with the fondness of the memories that I have with these albums over the years, the ones that you come back to and find yourself going back to when you first listened to it. That being said, I wouldn't put anything on here that I didn't think was worthy of its place on the chart. Enjoy!

The album that wouldn't let me shake the urge to play guitar. I woke up early and listened to this album for the better part of a year. Brilliant lyrics and soloing that leaves me floored.

I hadn't often listened to albums (for the most part) in terms of the production effort until I heard this. Put it on repeat and still get chills listening to this.

Can't say anything about this that has't been said. My parents were tired of hearing David Byrne's voice in the house so they bought me an mp3 player.

Lyric driven to the point of pure genius backed by masterful sampling and production. Won the Pulitzer for DAMN but I think it was making up for the lack of an award for this album.

My friends in high school were the stoner trumpeters from the school jazz band. This was always a go-to album. Amazing fusion with killer guitar phrasing to boot.

Poetry put to guitar. Not that I don't like Nick Cave on piano, but there's something about how he plays that fits the style better. This album especially captures his cynical style.

Orchestral accompaniments to an album that screams sex (sometimes in a very literal way). Intimate, sleazy, beautiful listen with chord choice and progressions that'll give goosebumps.

Put together in a way that ramps up atmosphere. Masterful drumming and guitar on this album. Some of these songs sound like they could have been made today.

Always been a sucker for concept albums. This album encapsulates an entire story through oddly detailed ambiguous pieces fitting together perfectly from beginning to end.

Dreamy with lyrics that seem to apply to a place that is halfway between the real world and one that you might find while sleeping.Put together amazingly with a unique guitar style.
