The Dark Side of the Moon used to top my list, because it's one of the most concise, focused, and beautiful albums to have ever been conceived. If you listen to music of any kind, I implore you to explore the depths and crevices of this album. There's elegance in every second of this album.

On the Beach is an album not often discussed among those who know of Neil Young casually, which to me is incredibly disheartening, as this album is utterly perfect. I've never heard blues rock more diverse and kaleidoscopic as Young's interpretations and songs like the title track are peak form for Neil. And although the more bluesier cuts are absolutely mesmerizing, the folk rock cuts are just as mind-blowing and outstanding. I've grown to appreciate a lot of his albums more and more, but this one will never be replaced as Neil Young's best in my mind.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is quite the beast. It's a double album clocking in at 94 minutes, and to make everything even more complicated, the story that Peter Gabriel wrote for this album makes pretty much no sense to anyone but him. But every aspect of this album was nailed right in the head. It's definitely one to sink your teeth into if you have the time. I highly recommend it.

I struggle to describe the brilliance of this record. It's vastly different to any album Bowie had put out up to that point, but holds his songwriting integrity intact. On one half you have these weird, catchy little vignettes of art pop brilliance, then on the back half you get treated to some dense, gratifying ambient narratives. Brian Eno obviously had a hand in this album, but his hand is often overestimated when it comes to this album.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 2% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 90.3/100, a mean average of 91.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.6/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 5.7.

Discovered your chart after seeing you had Blind Girls' Residue at a 9.5/10 (shame it didn't make the cut here!). Surprised I haven't come across this before; you've got great taste and your passion really comes through in the writing. Hail Bjork!

Very diverse and adventurous chart, which kinda makes Nevermind being so high kinda baffling, but otherwise great.

This chart is awesome! You have great taste - a real eclectic mix in terms of genres covered, and importantly you've given due praise to indisputable classics - including many of my favourite artists and albums with great descriptions. Quite a few more you have here are just outside my top 100. Love your work!
