A wonderful piece of work, unusually serious in tone- with lighter moments- mostly performed solo (a multi-instrumentalist at the top of his game), with Nigel Godrich overseeing the proceedings.

Why this dance-pop-folk-electronica trio is not more famous or appreciated remains a mystery. Any of their albums is an ideal point of entry into their work. But this one is particularly inspired.

Nice to see Bill Callahan, Jenny Lewis and Josh Rouse here. Have you heard Josh Rouse's Under Cold Blue Stars and Nashville? I rate them both above 1973 which veers a bit too close to that white line down the middle of the road for me. Kevin Tihista's Red Terror seem to sneak under everyone's radar, good to see yours is working just fine.
