"This album is a let down, definitely one of his worst albums. I do not recommend this to anyone for any occasion unless you have a serious fetish for underachieving albums. Best song: Empire State of Mind. I wouldn't bother with the rest of the album it's not worth the time."  Reply

"Perhaps the most fascinating pure pop record of the 00s, Rihanna gets icier and a bit self-consiouscly more gothic and grandiose on this record, to mostly positive results. Of course the well-documented personal turmoil does seethe through the record, more than a bit awkwardly at points, but her ..."  [+]  Reply

"This album is at times both brilliant and frustrating. Oh No, Fitz and Dizzyspells and Effigy are remarkably pretty and melodic songs. Masterswarm and Souverian are lengthier tracks, with interesting structures and moments of smart complexity. On the other side of things, the album is held back b..."  [+]  Reply

"This is Masked Dancers: Concern in So Many Things You Forget Where You Are by The Brave Little Abacus Midwest emo / post rock / Math Rock And with every scream, you can feel it too. You feel the loneliness, the insecurity in that lisp. Masked Dancers is an album plagued by longing and sorrow. Tha..."  [+]  Reply

"Features a few tracks that would slot easily into any Black Keys album. But what makes this a true solo affair is that Auerbach allows more of his influences to shine through. There's the rock, but with more the blues background pushed to the fore. But there's some folk, too. Hell, there's even s..."  [+]  Reply

"Experimental and interesting, but has a tendency to be shrill, unnecessarily repetitive and frankly annoying. A difficult album to get through, only redeemed by the clear intellect behind the way it chooses to experiment."  Reply
