"This album is just impressive. First of all, it’s sixteen tracks long, which is certainly ambitious for a folk album, and, perhaps even more ambitious for a folk album, it’s somewhat of a concept album. It’s not a concept album in that there’s some kind of running theme throughout the album, or s..."  [+]  Reply

"It's the Byrds' second album, released in 1965. That pretty much sums it up, sonically. Maybe a slight sophomore slump, but true to their iconic sounds and delivery. Hard for fans of mid-60's era folk rock to pass up these harmonic, hymn-like musical goods."  Reply

"I'm surprised users prefer 10 Nick Cave albums to this one. "Let Love In" is a contender, but this is my favorite, both in its accessibility and its Bad-Seeds-esque weirdness. "We Call Upon the Author" is a standout track."  Reply

"I think this album may even be better than Back to Black. Listen to the song, "Amy, Amy, Amy." It's got a horn, what I think is a snare drum, and just the tiniest hint of guitar, and Amy's voice and her lyrics. Listen to the phrasing of the that song. Her appreciation of Frank Sinatra is apparent..."  [+]  Reply

Koyaanisqatsi
Soundtrack
"What is the point of changing the album on the turntable or the CD in the player if the next album is to be more of the same. Koyaanisqatsi, the soundtrack of the movie by Giorogio Moroder. Electronica, not the dance type, more the dreadfully intellectual type my dears. Musical pieces built aroun..."  [+]  Reply

"This is probably the most maligned, bashed and dismissed album in Progressive Rock. All the well-known prog haters (Rolling Stone, Robert Christgau, etc) had a field day with this album, but if you really LISTEN to all the 4 pieces is such astounding musical experience. My favourites are 'Ritual'..."  [+]  Reply
