Top 50 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.
n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 68.3/100, a mean average of 62.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 62.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 24.4.

I love it. Nice heavy chart!
Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Grunge, ...and then you'll find "INDIAN SUMMER", what a beatifull thing
like the majority of it.
as loud as you turn it, it's still kinda boring.
nice to see some metal on the site
Nasum, Depeche Mode, Entombed and The Cure in the same list makes for a definite win, nice list man.
90 for sheer audacity. And masters of reality at #2. Nice
Very good chart, even if Slaughter of the Soul >>>> everything by Metallica
kul med en till svensk här på bestever... Lyssnar inte så mycket på hårdrock och har bara hört några få album på din lista så jag kan inte riktigt bedömma den. Hare nice.
The problem with your list isn't that you've opted to go with harder metal and punk choices, it's sadly that I don't feel these are particularly good ones (with a few exceptions).
