Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. The problem with your list isn't that you've opted to go with harder metal and punk choices, it's sadly that I don't feel these are particularly good ones (with a few exceptions).

Your taste differs from mine, but I would never say you're wrong because many people don't agree with you. The appeal to popularity is a highly-flawed logical fallacy used by bandwagon jumpers who can't think for themselves. 100 rating for saying that "50 million Elvis fans CAN be wrong."

Thanks. Well, I guess I have pop sensibilities. Or rather an ear for melody. Nobody made great 4 minute songs like MJ in my opinion.
