I only felt comfortable ranking albums I actually owned. So nothing got in based on reputation only. Also I decided not to include any greatest hits albums for what I think are obvious reasons.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

LOVED YOUR CHART
Where do I start, first off love to see all the Van Halen. It was also nice to see Fair Warning up so high that one seems to get lost in the shuffle of Van Halen's greatness.
& if that wasn't good enough then you throw in some Led Zeppelin's too!
George Michael is great, Careless Whisper (although not on the album you had in your chart) is one of my all time favorite songs.
Nice to see Montrose in there too, Sammy is great, personally I feel he is the best Van Halen lead singer.

yeah man, love the forrest gump score.. e.t score's great too.. i would have to go with silvestri's less is more approach though in this instance.. i mean, williams generally uses fuller, more bombastic orchestration and is undoubtably the more musically learned of the two.. but for forrest gump, i feel all of the music was absolutely spot on.. the soundtrack too..
