Top 50 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:

AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 67.9/100, a mean average of 55.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 55.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 22.5.

A lot of Bowie. I have no problem with that. If you really like someone you should be allowed to put in as many albums as seems necessary. I really had to force myself to reduce the number of Sparks records to three. Also, nice to see Images included. And Cockney Rebel. I do not understand though, how anyone could put in U2. But that, maybe, is my problem.
I like almost all the albums in the chart so cant complain - and with Tubeway Army in there it gets my vote :)
Wow.. I don't think there's another chart on this site with so many albums by a single artist... But you know what's the thing that kind of pisses me off.. Out of all U2 albums you put on, you didn't include my favourites - Boy and War.
Your taste has great promise, but I would expand the scope a bit to include artists that are similarly sophisticated, talented, etc..
You've got a good collection of albums, but in my opinion you have too much David Bowie. Still, good chart.
