The next 100 albums I love (101-200), This seems like the right place to also start adding my favourite compilations. To be eligable for my chart compilations must contain at least 40% of material that was not released on any of the artists studio albums.

The Jam were a great singles band and with half the songs here not appearing on any of their studio LP's, 'Snap' is far more essential than most career spanning compilations.

Moz & Marr were such prolific and great songwriters you can put together a pretty amazing album just made up of B sides, many of which appear on this compilation.

This is actually my favourite release by Stereolab but being a compilation I've not included it in my top 100. Saddens me to see this wonderful double album down in 9th place in their discography on this site. So many great tracks but John Cage Bubblegum, French Disko and Lo Boob Oscillator are seriously great Stereolab tracks. Play this one Loud!!!

I saw Heavenly in their prime on several occasions but none were more poignant than watching them bring down the curtain on Sarah Records at the Thekla in Bristol back in 1995...a very happy sad moment.

Another Sarah Records compilation...the reason being that for me Sarah Records were all about the 7" single. Yes the bands released some good albums on the label, but it was that wonderful format of a folded sleeve, a rambling newsletter and a poster wrapped around upto 4 good to great scratchy indie pop songs that got me hooked in the first place. These compilations celebrate those releases!
