Welcome to my chart. After much thinking, I have decided to reform my chart to better suit those albums that have the most emotional significance to me, rather than those albums that I find the most aesthetically favorable. The first forty will be my favorite albums of all time, while the last ten will be albums that I have been listening to recently and enjoyed.

This album is so sad (for obvious reasons) and emotionally raw. Which is probably why I like it so much.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

i'm curious to see what your chart would look like with a restriction on albums per artists. i'm not suggesting you should do that, as it's fine to love multiple albums by an artist (i have four radiohead albums on my chart as i write this, and at one point had 7), but i feel you don't have a lot of artist variety as a result. just something to think about, not really a criticism

Great to see another bowie-fan here!
My chart initially also consisted of 10 Bowie albums, until I ristricted it to 1 album per artist.
So I had to chose my favorite bowie album which was kind of impossible but my emotional decision was "Hunky Dory".
