Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. We're pretty similar I think - there are lots of albums I love on your chart that will probably make it onto mine eventually (Pirates, Stormcock, Good Old Boys, the Stones, Soft Bulletin), I just have a system where I don't add stuff to my chart until I've covered it on my blog.

Get a feeling you felt more when young, discovering Beatles (and others), and that later, new music, don't reach in all the way? I have had a decade like that. Only read then. Now music grips me again. I guess it's the love for my kids boosting it.

It takes a person of rare intelligence and the most exquisite taste to have Nilsson Scmilsson in their Top 100. Heh heh. No, seriously. Why it isnt in EVERYONE'S, i will never ever understand. Ha ha.

Cool chart oh fellow Dylan admirer and appreciator of the 60's/70's! Interesting that post 1975 Dylan doesn't make the grade. Glad to see Carole & Cat make the list - at the time they were groundbreaking artists/albums.

If you like Chance the Rapper, Acid Rap is considered his best work. Has maybe 2-3 songs that are ok but really it’s a great mixtape.
