Top 32 Music Albums of 1993
by mrmcrook

A great year in music. Very hard to put in an accurate order as even those near the bottom of this list are still fantastic albums. Studio albums rated ahead of Compilations, greatest hits, soundtracks etc. Only fair on a year list.

83.57 This is in two parts. The 3 new studio tracks are alright sounding as Danzig does with his brand of bluesy metal. The live tracks are the icing on the cake. Fucking fantastic. 11/24 [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

82.27* Took a little while to grow on me. It's not Jane's Addiction, but Perry Farrell does a great job showing off his artier side. It's very hip and original sounding. Pets is one of the greatest lyrical tracks ever. 04/25 [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

Hugely under rated. I put this on almost level terms as 'Appetite'. Fucks all over the 'Illusion' albums. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

81.285* I like these guys. Very original sound, blending genres. They tend to have a heavier rhythmic flow than any other rap or hip hop I've heard. Lot of good songs on this. Fantastic album to groove to. Always puts a smile on my face. 01/26 [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

81.25 My favorite of their studio albums. Reasons being it has the most constant high caliber of songs with the least amount of filler. The better songs standing strong but most are not dating well. 01/24 [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

80.76 Great unique album. Definitely the best they've put out. Almost every track absolute brilliance. Originality is what defines masterpiece albums. And these guys done that at the time. Classic. [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

80.333* Good follow up to 'Nevermind'. A lot more raw noise with a Garage Rock sound to it. Less commercial feel about it. 01/26 [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

78.897* A very underrated album. There's a good variety to his vocal style hence giving the songs a flavor of difference. So even with it having 16 tracks (copy I have has 17 with 'Girls of NY' being the 17th track and one of the best on the album), it keeps you hooked till the end. 14. (13) Down 1
77.72 With new vocalist John Bush this album made them sound like a completely different band. It eases off on the thrash element slightly and has more of traditional heavy metal sound throughout. Not bad at all, actually quite good, just very different to the Anthrax that came before this. 12/22 [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]

15. (14) Down 1
77.296* Cracking start with the first 3 songs but then the rest fails to keep up due to their droning style of Prog Metal. The last track could have done without the 10 minutes of crickets before the end message. With experimental shit like that, you can't help but think they're a bunch of pretentious wankers. Which is a shame as they've got some great music. 12/25 [First added to this chart: 12/23/2020]
