I'm a bit ambivalent about this album. Avril Lavigne's last album seemed to be moving into bland, Adele inspired pop, but then there was an emo-rap driven resurgence of pop-punk, and with the guest appearances from Machine Gun Kelly and Blackbear this feels a lot like Avril Lavigne jumping on the bandwagon to capitalise on this more than anything else.
I do like the album though. I think the singles Bois Lie and Bite Me are the highlights, but it all sounds alright. I have a soft spot for pop-punk though, as it was a big part of the soundtrack of my teenage years, so I enjoyed this even if I felt it was made just to take advantage of a trend.
