Natalie Imbruglia was a soap opera star in Australia when she decided to give it up for music. Her debut album, Left Of The Middle, was a huge smash, thanks to the massive single "Torn" and four other single releases. The rest is an artist trying to find herself, with mixed results. A lot of it sounds like background Adult Contemporary music, with a few bright spots. A lot was expected from her...a lot never came. This was as good as she got, which is too bad...there was some potential there.
Her second album did not have a hit like "Torn", and her music career has hit the skids, although she is still trying. This is an okay record, not a lot to recommend it. At least she tries to rock, and doesn't go down the completely bland path. This one falls pretty much square in the middle. [First added to this chart: 08/13/2024]
