"Absolutely insane album. The lyrics are dark, cryptic, and over the top in the best way possible. The vocal performances are powerful and the songs display a heavy ferocity. The production blends all of the sounds together in a way that makes the listener feel as though they are trapped in a stor..."  [+]  Reply

"This album is one of the outstanding masterpieces of the late sixties and Eric Burdon one of the era's creative figures as well as one of its greatest vocalists. Blues, raga and jazz elements combine to create a work that is refined musically as it is dark politically and socially."  Reply

"Unusual for me to appreciate this style of music, but there's something about Tankian's delivery here that gets me into his riffs and soft/loud/soft variance. I wouldn't play this repeatedly at any time - but it's good for a listen from time to time."  Reply

"This album is almost entirely folk music with a little bit of rock thrown in and it’s very good. Lyrically it is well written, the songs are enjoyable and, aside from one or two slow parts, the album is very solid."  Reply

"I was late to the Cat Power appreciation party , 2012 'Sun' late which turned out to be a completely underwhelming experience and leaving me to ponder what all the fuss was about Fast forward 6 years and 2018's 'Wanderer' has opened my eyes to the charms of Charlyn Marie "Chan" Marshall ..this is..."  [+]  Reply

"Despite containing the instant Fall classic Bill Is Dead, this album took quite a while to stand out for me. Sing Harpy kicks things off in a promising fashion, soon after we have the aforementioned Bill Is Dead with MES actually singing! This track is one of their best tracks of the 90's and was..."  [+]  Reply

"Whenever I think of this album, I remember listening to this on my Sony Walkman, doing my dumbbell reps and my dad coming in my room telling me the gulf war had started. Totally irrelevant to anything apart from I still love it the same as I did then as a teenager. Always loved their singles that..."  [+]  Reply
