Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 17% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.4/100, a mean average of 88.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.2/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.5.

@antaiospiano: The thing is, if I had put the E.P. list in an introduction, it would have been there as one big block of text preceding every(!) subpage of this chart. So, I simply found it less distracting at the #1 pick.

You can add an intro to your chart you know, you don’t have to do that at your #1 pick.
Anyway, nice chart. Indeed very focused on ‘90s alt rock, but it’s a very interesting ‘90s alt rock chart.

I could give you a 100 for just having In Utero ahead of Nevermind. But overall a fantastic list!:)

Blue Album #1 overall, hell yes. I have that also. I'll check out some of your other high picks that I had not heard of before.
Good stuff.

Excellent chart! With many classics, but mainly, very very original! I've never seen such a variate top ten like this, as it includes many kinds of music, and also is a anticipation of the whole chart, as it is incredibly original. The Weezer first really surprised me, and this band, Trio, is totally unknown to me. So, it would be excellent if you put some descriptions, specially in the top ten. The predominance of the 90' is really nice in here, one of the best. So, overall great chart!
