Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. with 28 similar picks of course I'm gonna like this chart. I see some comments that it is full of "classics" and sticking to the script - but I know most of these albums and if they are great albums then why shouldn't they be included?
Don’t know Dead Kennedy’s or Talk Talk (Colour of Spring) or Modern Lovers album. Some less familiar albums include Pretty Hate Machine or This Nations Saving Grace or Dirty or Rid Of Me or Trompe Le Monde or Gish.
So I enjoy it but would enjoy it more with some comments about why these albums?
