We Got It From Here.. is not only a triumph given many of its circumstances, it’s an absolute dream of a hip-hop album. Each of the record’s tracks offer something beautifully unique and each of the albums featured guests feel as much a part of the Tribe as Tip and Phife. This album exceeded my expectations, I think a lot of other people’s too.

Another tremendous swan song record that will be remembered for generations. David Bowie never quit. Up to the very end he put out music. Not just music that millions of people happened to take in, but continually relevant content. He never quit.

There's a sharpness to the production here that I think I like as much if not more than The Money Store, but TMS is a little more consistent songwise.
Bottomless Pit is one of my favorite listens of the decade and boasts a number of the best Death Grips tracks around. I often reference the beat switch on Hot Head as the decade's greatest example of tension and release. [First added to this chart: 11/06/2019]

One of the great examples of this generation of metal successfully incorporating elements or total themes of other genres into the foundation of their material. Through all the beautifully dense melodies and instrumental virtuosity, the record rings true with a pleasant pop sensibility. In an effort in which most bands fall flat on their dumb fucking faces, Polyphia knocked this one out of the park.
