In 1967, after just four albums, The Byrds Greatest Hits was released. And it really is one of the better sets from that time. A nice repackaging with 3 bonus tracks makes it all the better. 4 of the tracks were written by Dylan, which shows that, yes, they really were into Dylan, but also that they wrote songs of their own that stood up just fine.
This package is almost perfect...up there with the Eagles as far as greatest hits albums goes. The original notes from 1967 are included, as well as new ones from 30 years later. This is a great introduction to the band, although you'll want those first four albums more than you will this. [First added to this chart: 02/07/2025]
