Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 84.7/100, a mean average of 84.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 7.2.

Such a great chart! Especially since you have 'The Three Ep's'! Almost no one has that on here! Good Job!

Some picks on there I really can't understand why anyone puts them on charts, but otherwise one of the best lists I've seen.

Man, this is the best chart I've seen in a while. I love how you have both the Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer in the top 10. It could use slightly fewer new albums, but that's my only complaint.

I will definitely give a listen to some of the albums on your list, in particular "Cosmogramma" by Flying Lotus, which you appear to be high on. But out of curiosity, which albums on my list post mid 90's do you consider weak?

Thanks Jhereko. While I wouldn't characterize myself as a huge U2 fan (in fact, I probably like only a few other tracks by them), those 2 albums (especially Joshua Tree) are solid from top to bottom and have special meaning to me given that I'm in my mid 30's.

Revised to reflect criteria of only one album per band. Wanted the list to be have a better variety of artists, though unfortunately, this forced me to remove some of my favorite albums of all time (e.g., "The Bends" and "Kid A" by Radiohead, "Pinkerton" by Weezer, and "Funeral" by Arcade Fire). Really wish the site allowed us to go up to 100.
