The top five or so are a little samey but they really are that good.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Nice chart, we appear to have very similar tastes. Apart from having 10 albums in common one thing that stands out from your 1 album per artist rule is that a lot of your favourite albums by any given artist are also mine. Eg Dear Science, Ok Computer, Funeral, Dark Side of the Moon, Slanted & Enchanted, Who's Next, Blue Lines, Definitely Maybe, Led Zep IV etc. London Calling > The Clash and Blonde on Blonde or Highway 61 > Blood on the Tracks would be the only real differences. Only thing stopping you getting 100 is the inclusion of NMH and Stereophonics but it'd be boring if all our tastes were exactly the same

I agree with faceless - if an artist is really great, why can't they have more than one album in your chart? Regardless, this is a good, if a little standard chart.

Great chart (thankfully it appears that the much malined 'My Chemical Romance' has been dropped from the list). You have obviously limited yourself to one album by each artist. That does give your chart more balance but it does also exclude a lot of great albums from the list and makes the list a bit artificial since its not really the best 50 albums of all time if Revolver, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul etc. don't make the cut when you are clearly a fan of the Beatles. Nice mix of artists and albums though. I really enjoyed your list.

haha you have a great chart, particularly certain picks like RATM and In Utero. Enjoyed your taste in general, I just hate My Chemical Romance soooo much, but to each its own right...
