Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Great chart, my favourite Dylan album - a stone-cold classic. 25 albums in common and there's nothing here to dislike. On the contrary its all very good. Am just getting into jazz so its good to see jazz entries on your list although I have yet to put any on my list. And good to see the National, am just getting into them. The 2 albums you have got are the 2 I have heard. High Violet is my favourite. Good stuff.

Very nice chart, unusual place for Dark Side, but it's ok with me. Maaaybe a little too cliche in terms of this website, you all seem to prefer indie and classics. Not that it's a bad thing or that I'm much different, I just like talking shit most of the time, sorry :)
