"This album was hyped as bringing back rock n roll. I don't know that it ever left, but it certainly was an extremely influential album, as the number of "The" bands skyrocketed after this one hit. Equal credit must also be extended to The White Stripes, for sure. This has been on regular rotation..."  [+]  Reply

"For those that don't know what Marmite is, basically it's a yeast spread that you put on toast or crumpets; a quite strong and distinct taste. They say you either love it or hate it... Is Amnesiac like Marmite? For me, "Pyramid Song" is very easy to love and the ratio of who love it to those that..."  [+]  Reply

"I like Homogenic, but it never made me feel other-worldly and in a sort of ice-dream reverie like Vespertine manages to do for me. Great albums take you somewhere else, on a journey or to a place of comfort. This is why it is her best album. I was a bit surprised to see Homogenic rated higher..."  Reply

"I find it really funny how people are complaining about how 1 minute ambient tracks (what they are calling filler) detract and destroy the album. This isn't a best tracks playlist, this is an album, an experience. It's suppose to have a concept, there are meanings behind them."  Reply

"Microphones is an extraordinary band led by the genius Phil Elvrum who works on the experimentation in the lo-fi music. The very special art of Phil Elvrum and his band reaches its peak on this album of 2001. The sonic research started on "It Was Hot We Stayed in the Water" here reach an impressi..."  [+]  Reply

"When will everyone realise the absolute brilliance of Megalomania, Space Dementia and Micro Cuts? And when will Citizen Erased become, rightfully, the highest rated song on the album?"  Reply

"This is a fantastic record that is extremely unique and different to anything else I have heard. The lyrics are brilliant and are delivered with such power and emotion that you start to feel connected to the artist. Musically, it is stunning as well with the guitar sounding thick and it completel..."  [+]  Reply

"I remember 2001... I thought the music industry was spiraling downhill... dominated by boy bands, Shaggy, Limp Biskit, Linkin Park, Staind, Creed, etc... Those were dark days indeed. When the Strokes and White Stripes burst onto the scene with their huge 2001 albums, it restored my faith in the m..."  [+]  Reply
